Relevé isn’t a medspa. I mean, I am a healthcare provider (‘med’) and we do have a very relaxing atmosphere (‘spa’), but I really don’t vibe with the ‘medspa’ descriptor. A new patient came in yesterday describing her recent experience at what I would call a medspa…
“I went in for a consultation because my under eye darkness really bothers me, and they told me I need surgery and 64 units of Botox. I was a little taken aback, I mean, that’s a lot don’t you think?”
It's quite clear that the provider wasn’t listening. They looked at the patient as a case study to be ‘fixed.’ They recommended what treatments they thought she should have, not what would actually address the problem she came in about.
Now, don’t get me wrong; 64 units of Botox is not ‘too much,’ and if the patient were to go ahead with that treatment, she may even love the results! But that’s not how I work.
If these treatments were free, I might, but they require your financial investment. Therefore, you need to feel confident about the treatment before you ever go through with it. You need to feel heard and validated. You need to feel like you understand your options and have reasonable expectations. You need to feel confident that your investment will have a positive impact on your life before you ever go through with treatment. That’s how we create a process that makes you feel good from start to finish.
I prefer to call Relevé ‘my office.’ The services I offer and the way I offer them are tied directly to who I am as a person. When you enter my space, I value you as an individual, and treat you with honor and respect.
Our consultation will not include me telling you that you need something. Ever. In fact, I’m more likely to tell you you don’t need anything, but ask you what you want. I’ll tell you it doesn't matter how you look, only how you feel, and I’ll guide you towards treatments that will have the most impact on how you feel when you look in the mirror.
After an hour of conversation, that patient and I landed on a plan for her treatment that included optimizing her skin care regimen, and a series of platelet rich plasma under eye injections followed by cheek filler. She left feeling empowered and validated. That’s what you should expect after every visit to my office.
Under eye PRP FAQ:
How Does It Work?
This treatment uses your own body’s chemical signals to regenerate lost tissue in the under eye region causing darkness. Jen will draw a sample of your blood and spin it in a centrifuge. She will draw up your PRP and inject it into the under eye area using a flexible cannula through a single port hole.
What Is The Downtime?
You will look very puffy right after your treatment, but most of the puffiness subsides in a few hours. The next day you will feel puffy, but likely not enough for anyone else to notice. On the second day after treatment you may see significant improvement in your under eye area, but this is not the result of the treatment, it is only a happy accident. The full result is about one month after treatment when tissues have had time to grow. You may have bruising which you can cover with makeup if you like.
Does It Hurt?
It doesn’t hurt but it does feel weird.
What Are The Risks?
The most significant risk is bruising due to the delicate nature of the area. You can use makeup to cover bruising if needed.
Will It Treat My Under Eye Bags?
Fullness or bags will not be reduced with this treatment. Only surgical removal can effectively reduce bags.
What Does It Cost?
A single treatment is $320 or get a package of 3 for $800; we recommend a series of three treatments for noticeable results.
